Meet Katrina
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me. I am Katrina, a certified DONA birth doula, certified Madriella birth doula, postpartum doula, and Childbirth Educator, a placenta encapsulation specialist, and birth nerd!! I have relocated from Orlando to Oklahoma City. I am taking clients in the OKC/Yukon area. I am also still accepting clients indefinitely in Orlando through my agency. Please get to know my Orlando team at www.bebelievecollaborative.com!
My heart is so full of passion to help families have a wonderful birth story and transition into adding your new baby to everyday life. I believe that education is essential in your birth story. Rather it's learning about pregnancy, labor, birth, immediate postpartum, or after you bring your baby home, there is so much to know!
I have always had such a desire to love on women and their families. When I was young, I was the odd kid that always flocked to pregnant women or new families. There has always been a beautiful passion in my heart to make life easier for them. In high school I had dreams of becoming a NICU nurse, where I began learning so much about birth and the newborn. Although my dreams changed, my passion for birth and babies has only increased over the years. I have now been helping out new families for several years.
Unlike quite a few other doulas, I do not have a vast array of specialties. While I have knowledge and training in a lot of other birth related fields, my passion and focus is on prenatal, birth and postpartum. When you hire me, you will know that I am 100% into you and your family, guiding you through this journey to the best of my ability. I am also very passionate about hospital births, where I feel moms can advantage the most with education on their rights and how to advocate for themselves. (But I also love a good ole' home birth or birth center birth!)
Having me as your doula means you get support, no matter how or where you choose to birth. I will make sure you have evidence-based information so that you can make an educated decision on choices that come up during pregnancy through postpartum. No matter what your choices are, I will support you. This is your birth, your body, your baby, and your choice!
A little about me personally, I have been married for 18 years to my best friend. My husband and I have four adopted children, two wonderful "in-loves" the most beautiful granddaughter ever, and another baby on the way!!! The oldest three have graduated and moved on, and our youngest is in the 8th grade. We do a lot of volunteer work in our community during our spare time. I am actively involved in my church, and proudly claim my love for Jesus. And on a lazy day (whatever that is, lol) you can usually find me making t-shirts, other crafts, playing a game with my kids, putting together a puzzle or reading a book.
I truly do look forward to meeting you, your partner, your baby, other children, and anyone else that plays an important part in your birth! Have a very blessed day!
