Why choose me?!?

In the Orlando area, you have a great variety of doulas to choose from. We all have training, most of us are certified. We all LOVE helping moms and are passionate about birth and postpartum. So what makes me better than them?

Honestly, nothing! We all have wonderful qualities to offer families.

But allow me to express what I personally stand for, and what I can offer you! I believe that birth is natural. It is not a medical emergency (generally), and it does not require you to fully rely upon doctor suggestions. My heart is to teach you about pregnancy and birth. I educate you on what to expect, and how to advocate for yourself. You and your family are my priority! With knowledge about what to expect, you will be able to stand up for yourself and not be bullied in the medical environment, as too often happens.

One of the most commons lines I hear as a doula is, "If I had known all this when I had my first baby, the outcome and/or my memory of birth would have been completely different!" It is very unfortunate, but there are some medical staff that will take advantage of a mom that is unaware of her options. They will speak rude and make the new mom feel inadequate. This is absolutely NOT the case all the time. In fact, more times than not, the doctor and staff are kind, encouraging and don't pressure you. But what if they do...how are you prepared?

That is one reason why I absolutely love what I do. I want you to have the very best birth experience possible. Rather you birth at home, a birthing center, or a hospital, You deserve to be knowledgeable about what you will be experiencing and what your rights are. We all know that sometimes things take a wrong turn, and that other outcomes are unavoidable. But I want to help you know that you were not pressured into it and that you did everything that you could with no regrets.

One of my very favorite quotes is "A woman, as long as she lives, will remember how she was made to feel at her birth!" Allow me to be a part of making your birth beautiful and empowering.
